Describe your most Amazing encounter with God.

One of the most Amazing encounters with the Lord was when He taught me how to pray empowered by His Holy Spirit. One of the most important aspects of the Christian life is that of prayer. This is something I have always struggled with because I wanted to be in charge, but true prayer is like a dance in which the Lord leads and I follow.

Why did you choose to go into seminary?
After struggling with the first year of serious discernment always waiting for a sign from God and never being satisfied with them I realized my approach to knowing Gods will was flawed. If I sit around waiting for the Lord I probably won’t hear His voice. I must actively seek Him so that when He does speak I have a heart ready to act on His call.

Name one thing you wish people new about you.
I wish people new a bit more about my past. I wish people new that for most of my high school years I fell victim to atheist ways of thinking. I wish they new that I have struggled and still do struggle with the same things they do.

Favorite past time
My favorite past time consists primarily of out door activities. I particularly enjoy getting to the woods. I enjoy the simple way of life that can be found in camping, fishing and hiking. Living in mans creation is beautiful but there is something sacred about walking through Gods.

What was your biggest obstacle to discerning Gods will?
The biggest obstacle to discerning Gods will has been my disbelief that ultimately I will be happiest doing Gods will. This coincides with the fact that I didn’t realize God had a plan just for me until a few years ago, a plan that He has been shaping since before my birth. The obstacle comes in forgetting that the Lord has a plan for my life, which He has been shaping and His plan can only be superior to mine. Slowly though I have come to see that the Lord has been shaping me for a mission and I need only accept it and find the earthly life that leads to eternal life.
